Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
Systemically applying interventions and principles to improve/modify inappropriate behaviors
Corrective Reading
One-to-one instructional approach teaches skills in a planned, controlled, and systematic manner
Discrete Trial Teaching
One-to-one instructional approach teaches skills in a planned, controlled, and systematic manner
Trauma Informed Practices
Trauma-Informed supports and spaces include a Sensory Room to provide a calming and relaxing environment, a Motor Lab for personalized sensory input and supports, as well as classroom-based sensory tools and equipment.
Kagan/Teach Like a Champion
Structures and strategies that increase engagement and decrease inappropriate behaviors
Brigance
Assessment, screening, and instructional tools that support IDEA requirements, state standards, and writing IEPs
Freckle
Comprehensive, digital multimedia service that aligns to state standards and provides resources for all grade levels and subject areas
Corrective Math
Research and standards-based intervention math program intended to develop student math proficiency
A variety of additional materials are utilized in order to meet the programming needs of each individual student
Positive Action
Systemic program that promotes positive thoughts, actions, and feelings. It also encourages cooperation and positive self-concepts among students

Assessments
Students who attend the Discovery Schools program will participate in various assessments throughout the school year administered to establish each student's instructional level and drive instructional practices. A variety of checklists and curriculum-based measures are administered to determine each student's educational needs.

Students also participate in state assessments, students in grades 3-8 complete Grade Level Assessments (MAP), students in grades 9-12 take the End-of-Course Exams (EOCs) and students in grades 3-12 that qualify for the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM/MAP-a) take the alternative state assessments. The ACT may also be administered to eleventh graders pending district and IEP team approval.
